Clare
Hoerl

As a young girl, my favorite place to be was the backseat of the family station wagon during our long Sunday drives through the countryside. The destination was never as important as the surroundings. While my father told stories and my mother smiled, I sat back and watched my siblings laugh, simply loving being near them. But I’d eventually drift toward the window, becoming obsessed with the view outside, quietly studying the shifting light and the way the colors of the landscape blurred together.

Those early drives taught me how to truly observe the world, and that perspective defines my work today.

     A Lifetime of Creating
That early obsession with "seeing" grew into a lifelong career. For over 35 years, I have had the privilege of bringing collectors' visions to life through custom commissions, and for the last two decades, I’ve shared my passion by teaching art to others.

Teaching has been one of my greatest joys; it challenged me to constantly deconstruct the world into its simplest, most honest forms, breaking a vast landscape down into shapes, color, and light.

     Sharing the View
After years of focused commissions and classroom walls, I am excited to open my studio doors to a broader community. My vision is simple: to share the peace and wonder I find in the world with you.

Through my paintings, I invite you to slow down and rediscover the simple beauty we often overlook. I hope my work inspires you to take your own "Sunday drive," to enjoy an ice cream cone, and to find joy in the world all around you.

It’s a lesson I’m still practicing today, usually while navigating the wonderful chaos of life with my husband and four sons.
